Congratulations to Sara Carey, who is graduating with her M.S.E. in Environmental Engineering on May 14. Sara has been working in SCEB for the last two years on membrane biofilm reactors (MBfRs) research and was the teaching assistant for the last year for CEE 361 Introduction to Environmental Engineering with Dr. Bruce Rittmann and Dr. Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown. Congrats Sara!
Congratulations to Aura Ontiveros-Valencia, who is graduating with here Ph.D. in Sustainability on May 14. Aura began her Ph.D. studies in 2009, and her research has focused on bioremediation using membrane biofilm reactors. She recently defended her dissertation, "Ecological Interactions Among Nitrate-, Perchlorate-, and Sulfate-Reducing Bacteria in Hydrogen-Fed Biofilm Reactors." Her committee consists of Dr. Bruce Rittmann (co-chair), Dr. Rosa Krajmalnik-Brown (co-chair), and Dr. César Torres. She has already assumed the role of post-doctorate researcher at SCEB.
